Miramar College Library and Learning Resource Center
The San Diego Miramar College Library and Learning Resource Center will serve the campus and community not only as a three-story library, but also as space for labs, classrooms, administrative offices, and a 236-seat auditorium. The building was designed to achieve LEED Silver Certification. The district has a LEED-Certified minimum requirement for all new and renovated campus buildings. The building’s structural system Our structural system design includes a structural-steel special moment-resisting space frame that does not inhibit the large uninterrupted spaces required for this type of educational facility. This design also provides high performance in an elevated earthquake risk environment. Additional features include a large roof plaza and photovoltaic panel capacity on the roof.
