Our Work

Los Angeles International Airport - Taxilane “T”

The feasibility study our team worked on in 2009 evolved into an actual project to construct new airplane taxiways for the new Bradley terminal. Miyamoto is responsible for the structural engineering surgical retrofit to safely demolish part of the old TWA Hangar, to open up runway space for new Taxilane “T”. We also successfully executed our work while allowing Qaantas Airways to remain fully operational throughout the project. Taxilane “T” is a 3,166 foot long x 100 foot wide, running north-south, connecting to Taxiway “C” and “D”. It forms half of the Dual Taxilane System in between LAX’s future Bradley West terminal and the proposed Midfield Satellite Concourse gates. The full project scope includes partial demolition of the TWA Hanger, demolition of LSG Sky Chef’s in-flight kitchen, American Airlines Low Bay Hanger, modify a multiple facility deluge system, site restoration, and construction of overnight parking areas. When the new Tom Bradley International Terminal reconfiguration is completed, there will be a total of 3 new taxi routes traversing north-south: “S”, “T” and “R”
